The Black Dahlia (2006)
I remember there was a lot of hype with this movie because of the cast, director and it is based off a real unsolved crime. I think it was trying to be noir-ish and also some kind erotic drama/thriller but ultimately it all fell flat and didn't get good reviews.
Yes it won an Oscar for best actress, but I did not like it. It was so dreary and boring.
Two flowers! I think Saoirse Ronan is a good actress and had been looking forward to this and had thought it could be a mix of Hanna and The Professional. Nope...it was boring and Alexis Bledel was too old to play a teen.

All good films! I almost went with The Black Dahlia but used it previously.
ReplyDeleteI chose The Blue Dahlia which is where poor Elizabeth got ger nickname except she chose black as the colour. I agree with you on the Black Dahlia I was really disappointed with this flick. I did like LA Vie En Rose but, knowing her life, I knew it was going to be a bleak film I have not seen your last choice.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Violet and Daisy! Well, I guess I didn't miss much 😅
