The first Thursday of the next seven months will be the Seven Deadly Sins edition and the first one up is Lust. Here are three lusty movies that immediately came to mind.
Cruel Intentions (1999)
Spoiled rich lusty teenagers playing a game of sexual conquests. Classic 90's teen drama.
Unfaithful (2002)
Well doesn't that poster say it all.
Adore (2013)
What's more lusty than a pair of childhood friends and neighbours who start what would eventually be long affairs with each other's sons.

Unfaithful fits perfectly. Poor Diane Lane was just helpless against that torrent of lust she felt for Olivier Martinez despite knowing it was wrong for her to feel that way and still loving husband Richard Gere. That long train ride home should have netted her the Oscar that year.
ReplyDeleteCruel Intentions is a nifty twist on Dangerous Liaisons. I'm not usually a fan of either Geller or Phillipe but the two work their roles here effectively.
I've heard of Adore but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I chose three that looks at other aspects of lust as well as the carnal one.
Lust for Gold (1949)-In the 1880’s Arizona drifter Dutchy Walz (Glenn Ford) and his buddy Wiser (Edgar Buchanan) suspect two men know the location of a gold mine. Tracking them they shoot the pair after which Walz turns on Wiser and kills him as well. Heading to Phoenix with a large stash of nugguts word quickly spreads and shopkeeper Julia Thomas (Ida Lupino) wheedles herself into Walz affections without mentioning her marriage to Pete (Gig Young) in the hopes of getting her hands on the loot. Eventually all turn on each other in their “Lust for Gold”.
The Bad and the Beautiful (1952)-In his lust for power unscrupulous movie producer Jonathan Shields (Kirk Douglas) ruthlessly claws his way to the top of the studio system by discovering, using and discarding movie star Georgia (Lana Turner), director Fred Amiel (Barry Sullivan) and writer James Lee Bartlow (Dick Powell) along the way.
Lolita (1962)-British professor Humbert Humbert (James Mason) relocates to the American suburbs, renting a room from lonely widow Charlotte Haze (Shelley Winters). He finds himself lustfully drawn to Charlotte’s teenage daughter Lolita (the recently departed Sue Lyon) doing whatever necessary including marrying her mother to remain close to the nymphet leading to his downfall. Stanley Kubrick directed his own adaptation of the Nabokov novel.
The only one I've seen of yours is Lolita and it definitely fits.
DeleteI have not seen your first or last pick but I have seen Unfaithful and lust is a good word for this film which is actually quite good.
ReplyDeleteIt has been ages since I've seen it and yes I found it good too.
DeleteNice to meet you! First-time participant. ☺ Unfaithful was an excellent movie and I used it, as well. Not familiar with the other two, but they sound interesting. Thanks for hosting this fun movie blogfest!
ReplyDeleteHello, glad you decided to join in.
DeleteI've seen Cruel Intentions and Adore, liked both movies. Unfaithful is on my watchlist.
ReplyDeleteI'm so annoyed with myself right now that I didn't think of Cruel Intentions. I've seen that film at least 5 times.
ReplyDeleteWow you must really like it...haha...I've watched almost as many times too...like I've said, classic 90s movie.
DeleteI haven't seen any of these but Cruel Intentions used to be on my watchlist.
ReplyDeleteUsed to? You don't want to watch it anymore?
DeleteIt's been years since I've seen Cruel Intentions, I would like to watch that again sometime though. Just for the refresher. The only one of yours I've seen is Adore and I hated it. lol
ReplyDeleteI saw Cruel Intentions again last year...and it has aged well.
DeleteI think I've seen all of these but like.. I can't remember the middle one. I was too young for it when I saw it, that's I'm sure of. :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen unfaithful in ages too...I want to rewatch it some time.
