This week's Thursday Movie Picks is 2019 Movies You're Looking Forward To
---
Aladdin (2019)
Love the animated original, though I have not seen it in a long time. Also curious what a Guy Ritchie Disney musical movie looks like.
The Lion King (2019)
The Woman in the Window (2019)
An adaptation of the popular 2018 thriller. While I didn't like the book much I can see why it has been quickly made into a movie and I'm curious how it will turn out. It is about an agoraphobic woman who spies on her neighbours and witnesses something...and she also loves watching classic thrillers. See, even the premise sounds a little like Rear Window doesn't it?
Zombieland 2 (2019)
Wow I can't believe this is actually happening and with the original cast. It has been a while since there's been any good horror comedy.
Knives Out (2019)
I like the modern noir Brick so Knives Out had me at "modern murder mystery in a classic whodunit style". Plus it has a fantastic cast.
I'm sure I'm forgetting plenty of interesting upcoming movies, but here are five that comes to mind now.
P.S. If you haven't seen it yet, the 2019 Thursday Movie Picks Schedule (Preliminary) is up. There are nine empty slots, three of which are for the Halloween Edition, so do give your suggestions.

The Lion King (2019)
I almost never watch movie trailers anymore but I saw this and it looked spectacular. So excited to see the movie now.

I completely forgot about Zombieland 2. I can't believe it either that it's happening!
ReplyDeleteI know right! And it seems the status is filming...so we're definitely getting it.
DeleteThe choice of Guy Ritchie to direct Aladdin is an interesting one for sure. Maybe it'll work, but I ain't gonna bet on it.
ReplyDeleteKnives out is new to me. Hadn't heard of it. You're right. That's one good cast list.
Aladdin - I hope it does end up good. Ritchie has done blockbusters before (the Sherlock Holmes movies) and Aladdin the story of a petty thief is quite in line with his earlier films about small time criminals getting over their head with larger schemes.
DeleteOf your picks I'm looking forward to Knives Out. I've been meaning to read The Woman in the Window, especially since Amy Adams is starring.
ReplyDeleteYep these bestselling thrillers do tend to get the best leads.

ReplyDeleteI totally forgot Zombieland 2 is coming out..
ReplyDeleteAladdin and The Lion King will look great in Live Action
ReplyDelete❤️💛💙💜
Well the Lion King trailer looks great, haven't seen the Aladdin one yet, so hopefully the movie turns out good too.
