Thursday Movie Picks #267: Actors in Multiple Roles

Hello there and welcome to Thursday Movie Picks a weekly series where you share your movie picks each Thursday. The rules are simple: based on the theme of the week pick three to five movies and tell us why you picked them. For further details and the schedule visit the series main page here.

This week's Thursday Movie Picks is Actors in Multiple Roles

---

This is a really difficult theme and here is what I came up with:

The Man in the Iron Mask (1998)
Leonardo DiCaprio plays both the title character and King Louis. I sort of love this movie. It's the whole Musketeers action and adventure thing...it's fun. And I just love the score as well.

The Pretty One (2013)
Zoe Kazan plays both twins. I like this quirky dark comedy about the plainer twin assuming the identity of her dead identical twin sister when she is mistaken for her.

Enemy (2013)
Jake Gyllenhaal plays the two look-alikes. This was just soo weird and I think I sort of get it...but the SPIDERS...that I don't get at all. And I hate the color scheme of the movie, which is like this sickly sepia tone.

  1. I don’t mind the Man in the Iron Mask but it didn’t wow me. The best was the hidden love story which I liked. I haven’t seen the other ones at all and not sure I will.

    1. Ahh...you mean the secret forbidden love story...with d'Artagnan, I almost forgot about that.

  3. I really like Zoe Kazan but I haven't seen The Pretty One yet. I enjoyed Enemy, though I think I liked it more than you did. I know I saw Man in the Iron Mask way back when I was a kid but I don't remember it.

    1. You should catch the Man in the Iron Mask again, it's a lot better Musketeers movie than the more recent The Three Musketeers (2011)

  4. I haven't seen Enemy yet but it sounds great, so I'll have to check it out!
